Community Needs Assessment and Engagement

Desire Youth Initiative conducts community needs assessments to understand the challenges, priorities, opportunities, and aspirations of the communities we serve. The program creates spaces for community members to share their experiences and perspectives, enabling DYI and its partners to identify and prioritize issues that require meaningful intervention.

Redefining Equality, Nurturing Growth

Desire Youth Initiative (DYI) is a non-profit women and youth-led community-based organization operating within but not limited to Kilifi County.

With a diverse membership across age, gender, culture and religious backgrounds, we are established to serve communities and contribute towards the realization of each person's role in creating an ideal society.

Our programs advance gender and social justice for women and girls while supporting vulnerable members of society, including people with disabilities, women and children. Through community outreach and tailor-made programs, DYI works to improve quality of life and create opportunities for lasting change.
